The Directorate of IT Support and Network Infrastructure comprises:
1) The Network Infrastructure Department
2) The IT Support Department
The responsibilities of the Directorate are distributed among its departments as follows:
1) Network Infrastructure Department
The Network Infrastructure Department is responsible for supporting and developing university research and teaching through the use of advanced telematics services (network multimedia applications, open systems for tele-teaching and distance education, development of multimedia titles, etc.). It also manages and supports the network of the Athens School of Fine Arts and oversees the institution’s participation in the GUnet University Network. Additionally, it provides training to members of the academic community in the effective use of internet services and digital resources.
2) IT Department
The IT Department is responsible for analyzing and designing the computerisation of the Institution’s services, developing the necessary software programs and documenting them, archiving and maintaining a program database, training and continuously updating users, operating the central processing unit and terminals, assessing material requirements for data preparation, handling procurement and preventive maintenance of hardware, improving and maintaining the system software, and providing additional consulting services on technical issues.
