Internal Evaluation Group

The Internal Evaluation Group (OMEA) is established by decision of the Department Assembly and comprises faculty members with internationally recognised academic work and relevant experience in evaluation procedures, as well as one (1) student representative, nominated by the appropriate student representative body.

Each year, the Department, through OMEA, submits an Internal Annual Report to the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP). This report includes consolidated quantitative data on students, academic and administrative staff, infrastructure, the Study Programme, student welfare services, and all other aspects relevant to the Department’s operation. Based on the Annual Internal Reports submitted by the Departments, MODIP prepares a corresponding Institutional Internal Report every two (2) years.

OMEA is also responsible for overseeing the completion of evaluation questionnaires by both teaching staff and students, collecting all necessary data, and compiling the Department’s Internal Evaluation Report accordingly. This process spans two (2) consecutive semesters and is repeated at least once every four (4) years.

Once approved by the Department Assembly, the Internal Evaluation Report is submitted to MODIP and subsequently forwarded to the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE, formerly HQA – Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency). The evaluation process concludes with the External Evaluation Report, compiled by a Committee of Independent Experts following on-site visits to the Department.

The first cycle of the Department’s evaluation process was completed in February 2014. Under the current legislative framework, the evaluation process now results in the accreditation of the Department’s Study Programmes. In this context, following an invitation by HQA (now HAHE), the second evaluation cycle was conducted, culminating in the on-site visit of the Undergraduate Programme Accreditation Committee and the issuance of a positive accreditation decision by the HQA Council on 15 February 2019.

The Internal Evaluation Group of the Department of Theory and History of Art is composed of the following members:

Foteini Zika, Associate Professor, and

Irene Gerogianni, Assistant Professor.

Maria Chatzi, member of the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (EDIP), provides support to OMEA in its operations.
