Health Care
According to par.1 article 284 of law 4957/2022 (Official Government Gazette Α/141/21.07.2022), students of the first, second and third cycle of studies at Higher Educational Institutions in Greece (HEIs) who have no other medical and hospital care, are entitled to full medical and hospital care in the National Health System (N.H.S.) with coverage of the relevant costs from the National Organization for Health Care Services (EOPYY), pursuant to article 33 of law 4368/2016 (Official Government Gazette Α/21/21.02.2016). The specific terms, the conditions and procedure for the provision of health care are determined by a Joint Decision of the Minister of Finance, the Minister for Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Minister for Health.
Therefore, Health Booklets are not issued or renewed by the competent Department of the ASFA, and uninsured students can furthermore contact Public Health Centers with their AMKA (Social Security Number).
