Internship for the Department of Art Theory and History
A. Terms and Conditions for Participation
1. Students of the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) are eligible to undertake internships with organisations and entities from both the private sector and the broader public sector. Participation in the programme is open to students enrolled in the Department of Visual Arts who are in their 5th semester or higher, and to students of the Department of Art Theory and History who are in their 7th semester or higher.
2. All interested students must, before submitting their application, register on the ATLAS platform (http://atlas.gmet.gr) using the credentials provided by the Secretariat of their Department. After registering on the aforementioned platform, students can search for available Internship positions. Organisations that have not registered on the ATLAS platform and wish to become hosting entities for student internships must complete their registration and contact the Internship Office for information about the relevant process.
3. Applicants must submit their application electronically along with a Partner Form that includes all necessary personal information (the forms for both documents will be posted as a link within the specific Call for Applications).
4. The use of the institutional email account is mandatory for the submission of the electronic application and for any communication with the Internship Office. Applications submitted from non-institutional email accounts will not be accepted.
B. Procedure for the Call for Applications and Evaluation of Applications
1. The Internship Office publishes the Call for Expression of Interest for participation in the Internship Programme, based on available funding. This call will announce the start of each internship cycle, available positions, the duration of the internship, and detailed information regarding the process of participation, evaluation, and selection of applicants. The Call for Expression of Interest is published by the Internship Office and is made publicly available for at least ten (10) days on the website of the Employment and Career Centre (Dasta): (http://www.dasta.asfa.gr/frontend/articles.php?cid=3)
2. Applications from students of the Department of Visual Arts and the Department of Art Theory and History are evaluated separately, but the ranking criteria are the same for all applicants. The ranking of candidates from each Department is determined by multiplying the ECTS credits by the current average grade.
Ranking Criteria (K): K1: Current GPA K2: Total ECTS credits for the successfully completed courses.
Point Calculation Formula: K1 x K2
3. Students with disabilities: Students who are officially recognised as persons with disability under current legislation are awarded an additional 200 points to their final ranking score. Disability certification documents are not submitted to the Internship Office; the relevant information is requested from the Secretariat of the respective Department. Therefore, to qualify for the additional points, candidates with disabilities must have submitted the necessary certificates to the Secretariat of their Department.
4. The Internship Office collects the detailed transcripts from the Secretariats and forwards all documents to the three-member Evaluation Committees of both Departments. The applications are then reviewed and evaluated by the Committees, and a report is compiled recording the reference number of each application and its corresponding grade. The provisional list of results, including the rankings of the students, is posted on the Dasta website for five (5) calendar days to allow for any objections.
5. Objection Process: The Objection Committee is the same for both academic Departments of the ASFA. Interested parties may submit an objection electronically within five (5) calendar days of the posting of the provisional results. After the deadline for objections has expired, and if any objections have been filed, the Objection Committee will review and decide on the objections and announce the final results via the Internship Office. The final results will then be published on the Dasta website, adhering to personal data protection requirements.
