Located in the basement of the facilities at 256 Pireos Street, the space covers an area of 270 sq.m., is equipped with a 35mm projection system with Dolby Stereo sound, and has a seating capacity of 129.
Since 2018, regular film screenings have been held at ASFA, featuring films from the history of cinema (thematic tributes to major directors every Monday and Wednesday, and a film club every Friday at 8 p.m.). These screenings are complemented by lectures given by guest speakers in the fields of cinema and audiovisual artistic production, in collaboration with laboratory-based courses that support teaching needs.
Indicatively, the ASFA film screenings have included thematic tributes to the work of directors such as: Michelangelo Antonioni, Andrei Tarkovsky, Carl Dreyer, Ingmar Bergman, Luis Buñuel, Theodoros Angelopoulos, Kenji Mizoguchi, Yasujirō Ozu, Mikio Naruse, Akira Kurosawa, Wong Kar-wai, Luchino Visconti, Andrey Zvyagintsev, Alexander Sokurov, Roberto Rossellini, and Federico Fellini.
