He studied Archaeology and Art History in Paris, where he also obtained his doctoral degree. He worked as a curator at the National Gallery, where he was also responsible for educational programmes. In 2006, he was elected Associate Professor of History of Modern Greek Art at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA).
