The Mythimna Annex is a historical listed building known as the “Komninaki-Kralli mansion”, built in the early 19th century. The mansion is a typical example of 19th century local architecture and consists of 3 floors (ground floor, mezzanine and first floor), with a total surface of 414 sq.m. On the 1st floor there are 4 rooms with frescoes dating back to 1833, which are open to the public as a museum exhibition.
Facilities include:
- 1 double bedroom for teaching faculty on the 1st floor
- 2 double bedrooms and 1 quadruple room (total of 8 beds) for students and one bathroom on the mezzanine
- 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 1 dining table accommodating up to 10 people and 2 shared bathrooms on the ground floor
- 1 three-room building for workshops
- A large yard surrounding the building, with 2 terraces used by students as outdoor drawing space
- Wi-Fi is available
Please Note: the Annex does not provide central heating and air conditioning (there are just a few portable heating & cooling units).
ACCESS:
- By ferry: Daily itineraries from Pireaus port to the port of Mytilini, taking about 10-12 hours.
- By airplane: Daily direct flights from Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” to Lesvos – Mytilini airport.
- By bus/car: Driving time from the town of Mytilini to the Annex of Mithimna (Molyvos) is about 1 -1 ½ hour. Regular bus service is also available.
