The number of transfer admissions for degree holders -graduates of Greek or foreign higher education institutions (recognised by DOATAP), including universities, technological institutions (TEI), equivalent institutions, ASPAITE, and other post-secondary schools of at least two years\u2019 duration under the authority of the Ministry of Education or other ministries- is set at 12%<\/strong> of the total number of students admitted each academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates are selected through transfer examinations<\/strong> in three subjects. For the current academic year (2024\u20132025), the subjects are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Art History<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

European History: Modern and Contemporary Periods<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

History of Aesthetic Theories<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates are ranked based on the total score<\/strong> across all three subjects. To be eligible, applicants must score at least 10 out of 20<\/strong> in each subject, with a minimum total of 30 points<\/strong>. Each subject is graded on a scale from 0 to 20 by each examiner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vacant places from the admissions of the academic year 2016\u20132017 may be filled up to the limit of the allowed admission percentage, by admitting candidates in descending order of total score<\/strong>, provided the total score is at least 30 points<\/strong>, regardless of their performance in individual subjects. These admitted candidates are enrolled for the academic year 2017\u20132018<\/strong> in the first semester<\/strong> of the Department. This provision also applies to admission exams of subsequent academic years until the issuance of the Internal Regulations of the Higher Education Institution. It is not permitted<\/strong> to admit candidates who have tied with the last admitted student in the receiving Department as additional<\/strong> (Article 74 of Law 4485\/2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department’s Assembly determines the semester of admission for transfer students, the <\/strong>exam subjects <\/strong>and their syllabus, the Transfer Admissions Committee and examiners and the designated re-grader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Transfer Admissions Committee consists of seven members:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

–\u00a0 the Department Chair and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– six faculty members (two per subject of the examination). If necessary, faculty from other departments teaching the same or related subjects may be appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Committee members are responsible for selecting the exam topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By decision of the Department Assembly, admitted transfer students may be exempt from courses that have been fully or adequately covered during their previous studies. They are also exempt from re-taking the exam subjects used for their admission, provided these correspond to courses in the department\u2019s curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Application and Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application and required documents<\/strong> of degree holders wishing to be admitted to the Department must be submitted to the Department Secretariat (or sent by post) from November 1 to November 15<\/strong> of each academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
