Vicky Sarakatsianou is historian of art. She studied
Archeology and History of Art at the University of Athens. She has a Master
Degree in the History of Art. She was granted a scholarship by the State of
Scholarship Foundation (É.Ê.Õ.) and obtained her PhD in “Abstraction in the Contemporary
Greek Art” by the University of Athens in 2004. She has studied “Computing &
Office Technology” in United Kingdom.
She is a teacher in Secondary Schools having passed the
relevant panhellenic exams. She teaches History of Art at the Greek Open
University and at the Technological Educational Institution of Athens (T.E.I.) as
well as at Vocational Educrurdfational Institutes (I.E.K.).
She has done presentations and publications in accredited
national and international congresses. Beyond her PhD she continued her
research work by participated in the program "Women's literary and artistic
activity in Greek periodicals 1900-1940"
organized by Athens School of Fine Arts.
Her professional experience is fascinated. She has written the catalogue
of art exhibitions and her articles are published in art magazines. She
organized and presented an art program in TV. She has interviewed well-known
Greek artists such as Kostas Antreou, Opi Zouni, Alex Milona, Panagiotis
Tetsis, Kostas Paniaras etc. She has been the director of educational programs
in High Schools and cooperated with local institutions and foundations with
regards the organization of seminars of art history. She is a member of the
Society of the Greek Historian of Art.
